Privacy Policy
Written to be read rather than skimmed past. It describes what this site actually does, not what a generic template says it might.
The short version
YTMP3Music has no accounts, no login and no user profiles. We do not build a record of what you convert, and there is nothing to sell to anybody because nothing is being assembled in the first place. The longer sections below explain the handful of places where data does move, and why.
1. Information you give us
The converter asks for one thing: a YouTube link. It is used to locate the audio stream for that video and is not stored against you afterwards, because there is no "you" on file to store it against.
If you write to us through the contact form, we receive whatever you put in that message — typically a name, an email address and a description of the problem. That correspondence is kept only as long as it takes to deal with the matter and any follow-up it generates.
2. Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, the server keeps standard access logs. A log line records the requesting IP address, the time, the page requested, the referring page and the browser's user-agent string. These logs exist for security and diagnostics — spotting abuse, tracing an outage, working out why a page is failing for a particular browser — and they are rotated on the hosting provider's normal schedule.
3. What your browser stores locally
The site sets no cookies of its own. It does write a single value to your browser's local storage:
ytm-theme— remembers whether you chose the light or dark appearance, so the page does not flip back every visit. It never leaves your device and is not readable by us.
Clearing your browser's site data removes it. The site works perfectly well without it; you will simply get the theme that matches your operating system's setting.
4. Third-party services the pages load
A handful of resources come from other companies. When your browser fetches them, that company necessarily sees your IP address and user-agent, in the same way any website you visit does. Here is the complete list:
- Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.com,fonts.gstatic.com) — supplies the two typefaces used across the site. Loaded on every page. - The conversion panel — the download options that appear after you paste a link are served inside an embedded frame by a third-party conversion provider. It receives the video ID you submitted, plus the usual connection metadata. It is loaded only when you actually run a conversion, never on page load. Google Analytics runs inside that frame, placed there by the provider rather than by us; what it collects falls under their policy.
- cdnjs (Cloudflare) — provides one small script that lets the conversion panel resize itself neatly. Also fetched only when you run a conversion.
- Web3Forms — handles delivery of the contact form. It processes the name, email address and message you submit and forwards them to us by email. Loaded only on the contact page, and only when you press send.
Each of these operates under its own privacy policy, which governs what it does with what it receives. We have no control over, and take no responsibility for, their practices.
5. Analytics and advertising
The YTMP3Music pages themselves run no analytics script and no advertising tag. There is no Google Analytics, no pixel, no heat-mapping and no cross-site tracker placed by us. The conversion panel in section 4 is a separate service and does carry measurement of its own. If our own position ever changes, this page will be updated to say what was added and what it collects.
6. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since the service asks for no personal details in order to function, the question rarely arises — but if you believe a child has sent us information through the contact form, write to us and we will delete it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its processing. In practice the only personal data we are likely to hold is an email exchange you started, plus server log entries.
Send requests through the contact form under Privacy or data question. We will need enough detail to find the records in question — usually the address you originally wrote from and the approximate date.
8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, so the connection between your browser and our server is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet, but we do not store the kind of data that would make this site a worthwhile target in the first place.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version appears here with a new date at the top of the page. Material changes — adding analytics, for example — will be described rather than quietly folded in.
